The next general election is definitely growing closer. Speculations are rife that it would be held sometime around March. Our former Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, has even publicly spoken and given his tip (or hint?); saying that it’s best for Barisan Nasional to hold the general elections now. Anyway, it’s almost certain that it’ll be held by March. If it is going to be held later than that, then Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will have already be eligible to contest by then – which doesn’t really sound nice to the ruling parties.
However, what’s really most important to me is the way the people act towards the coming general election. First and foremost, do know that the election process is our right; our right to chose our leaders. People’s power rule in the process of democracy, so let’s use that power to ensure a better future for all of us. I hope all of you who’s well over 21 years of age have already registered as a voter. Practice your right! And remember, your vote is strictly confidential. You’re the only one who should know who you’re voting for. No one, and I mean not a single person, has the right to force you to show or tell them who you’re voting for. Note that!
Also, in the light of the currently ongoing ‘silent campaign’ in the media, I would like to urge all the people of Malaysia to open their eyes wide and keep their minds sharp. Whether you notice it or not, an ongoing ‘silent campaign’ is going on in the mainstream media, and it’s very biased. So, don’t let your minds be shrouded by only one version of a story. Don’t just simply let the mainstream media brainwash your minds. The same goes for alternative media. Don’t just simply let the alternative media brainwash your minds. It doesn’t matter if it’s the government or the opposition; the most important is that we must acknowledge the truth and give our votes to the people who could really lead us and ensure a better future for us all.
Remember people; once the election starts, the ball is in our hands!
