One of the
characteristics of a great man, is that he receives praise and recognition from
friend and foe alike. Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) is a man of great character.
He is the epitome of the human capacity for good; he is the perfect man whose
actions and personality set the standards for good conduct. As a head of
nation, Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) imparts justice to a level that
civilizations has never before seen and until today never will be equalled.
He is indifferent in the applications of laws to the elites in the society and
to the slaves. He does not bask in wealth, as how the leaders of nations today
do, but he made sure the riches he gets was quickly distributed to the people.
Those who are weak gets his protection, and those who are oppressed gets his refuge.
Detailed accounts of proof of all these characteristics of the Prophet Muhammad
(p.b.u.h.) are recorded through the rigorously preserved reports from the
Prophet and his companions, called as “hadith” in the tradition of Islam. A
person who studies the history of the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) sincerely from authentic sources,
will have no option but to recognize his majestic personality. As the French
philosopher Marquis de Lafayette said: “O Muhammad! No one else has
demonstrated the level you reached in establishing justice!”.
