BERSIH's 100,000 people's gathering

Citizens of Malaysia! There will be a people’s gathering on this Saturday (10^th November) at Dataran Merdeka organized by BERSIH. The purpose of the gathering is show the Malaysian citizens concern and demand for a clean and fair election. The gathering will start at Dataran Merdeka, after which there will be a march to the Istana Negara where several representatives from BERSIH and other organizations will meet the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong to hand over the people’s demand for a clean and fair election. Among others, the immediate demands of BERSIH are:

• The use of indelible ink to prevent double-voting;
• The abolishment of postal votes;
• Clean-up of the electoral roll;
• Equal and fair access to national media;

Members of the BERSIH Steering Committee have met with the Chief Police Officer of Kuala Lumpur and, separately, briefed the Special Branch Chief of Dang Wangi Police District on the event.
